Redefining crisis in museums: Insiders perspectives on digital engagement

COVID-19 has highlighted the need for museums to develop policies and practices that allow them be more responsive audiences' during a crisis, in many cases pushing explore new technologies approaches. Based on an analysis of National Museum Australia its digital engagement throughout 2019/2020 bushfire season pandemic, this paper identifies lack literature support channels incorporated institutional crisis planning. Referencing “Momentous”, purpose-built website, two Facebook groups, “Fridge Door Fire Stories” “Bridging Distance,” we content shared these platforms by users place conversation with reflections cultural workers who created maintained online platforms. We suggest help communities take active role negotiating how museum represents their experiences.
